Care That Takes Its Time

I earned my medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completed my internal medicine residency, and spent several years as a hospitalist before pursuing sleep medicine through a fellowship at Emory University.

Since then I have worked as a sleep medicine physician and Assistant Professor of Sleep Medicine, and contributed to national healthcare organizations and clinical guideline development. I started Successful Sleep and Wellness to practice the way I believe sleep care should work: individualized, unhurried, and centered on you.

How It Works

Four Steps to Better Sleep

  1. Step 1

    Book Online

    Takes about 3 minutes

Choose a new patient visit and a time that suits you. A deposit holds your spot and goes toward your visit.

  2. Step 2

    Meet Dr. Gomes

    90 minutes

A thorough consultation about your sleep, health history and goals. You’ll have time for every question.

  3. Step 3

    Test at Home

    If appropriate

A home sleep apnea test and a customized sleep kit arrive at your door. You sleep in your own bed.

  4. Step 4

    Your Plan, Adjusted

    45-minute follow-ups

Review results together, start treatment, and fine-tune it at follow-up visits as your sleep improves.

“My mission is to provide a personalized, patient-centered approach to sleep medicine that addresses the full spectrum of sleep concerns, with your well-being always guiding the process.”

Questions

Before Your First Visit

Still unsure? Call (908) 340-0027 or send us a message and we’ll help you choose the right appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

We’re a cash-pay, out-of-network practice. This allows for longer appointments, personalized care and direct physician access. You pay at the time of service and can request documentation for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Do I need a referral?

In most cases, no referral is required.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds?

Many patients use HSA or FSA funds for out-of-network healthcare expenses. Please verify eligibility with your individual plan.

Do I need a sleep study?

Not always. Your evaluation determines whether testing is appropriate and which type fits your symptoms and history.

What if my home sleep study is negative?

Some patients need further evaluation or an in-lab sleep study, depending on symptoms, risk factors and clinical findings.

Do you treat insomnia?

Yes. We evaluate and manage insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, hypersomnia, restless legs syndrome, parasomnias and sleep-disordered breathing.

Why are women often underdiagnosed with sleep apnea?

Women frequently present with different symptoms than men, and their sleep disorders are often overlooked or attributed to something else. A personalized evaluation helps identify these differences.

What states do you serve?
